It’s A New Year, and Ricky Martin has decided that he and his boyfriend Carlos Gonzales will be getting married at the end of the month. It has been reported that the two will tie the knot on Jan. 28 in New York.
Since publicly coming out in March 2010 the Latin singer has participated in many events that support the Gay community. One of the last events was in New York where he received the Vito Russo prize from Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) for his promotion of rights equality for the gay community. At the event Martin thanked “my partner, my boyfriend, Carlos. You’re the greatest.” He also continued with “I only wanted to be free and I can say that today I’m free” You can also watch the video below:

UPDATE: A rep for Martin has stated that Ricky is not getting married on 1/28/2012. But another source has reported that they are getting married, and that Ricky want’s to keep it under the radar until they are married. So as of right now, we will keep you posted as the news continues to develop.
In a recent interview about gay marriage in Puerto Rico the 40-year-old singer said “What I want is for them to say no to discrimination so that equality among us human beings may be a reality in my country.”
