Authorities say Toler told her boss, mother and grandparents that she was uninsured and she needed a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction. Toler collected more than $8,000 from fundraisers.

Police officials obtained Toler’s medical records and noticed there was nothing that mentioned Toler having cancer. They also saw that she paid a plastic surgeon in cash.

She was arrested and released on a bond. Toler is currently being charged for theft and fraud.
