Jovanny Venegas and Regina Saldivar in 'Yo Soy Tu Niña
Actor/Host and RAL's Executive Producer Jovanny Venegas is co-starring in a new Bilingual Novela (Soap) dealing with teen pregnancy, sex and family values titled 'Yo Soy Tu Niña.'
Yo Soy Tu Niña tells the story of Flor Ochoa (Regina Saldivar), a 15-year old growing up in Southern California and living in a very traditional Latino home.
To Soy Tu Niña
The youngest of three daughters, Flor is given unrealistic expectations from her father - an overworked landscaper named Jesús who wants Flor to grow up and be like her older sisters and be "married in white."
At the same time, Tony (Jovanny Venegas), Flor's older boyfriend is pressuring her to have sex with him. To get Flor's attention, Tony sends Flor an inappropriate text of himself and Flor's dad finds her cell phone and sees Tony's picture.
The tension increases in the Ocha home, Flor feels continued pressure from Tony to go away and be with him.
The situation boils over when Flor runs away to be with Tony.

Regarding 'Yo Soy Tu Niña' Jovanny Venegas told me "I'm really happy to have been part of this project. It has a great message and I think everyone will be able to relate to the story. It's very realistic and part of today's times and culture."

Regarding his character Jovanny says "I play Tony.... the guy that parents dread their daughters dating. He's a player and he's only interested in one thing, and we all know what that is. But at the same time I feel that Tony is young, naive and influenced by his peers to be that "playboy."
YSTN is written and directed by Andres Orozco who also has a role in the film "As a father I am super proud of this film. It is a letter to my daughter, that I hope when she gets older will read it and think of her old man."

Andres continued with "This film will make people cry, especially Latinas. We all have daddy issues, but Latinas seem to have a special place for their dads. They either have a great relationship with them or the dads are absent in their lives. This film will pull on some heart strings."
