After all the ugly and racist bashing young 11-year-old Sebastien De La Cruz endured while performing the National Anthem during the NBA final game in San Antonio, TX, now his star continues to rise!

Thousands of people have come to support the young Mariachi singer, including President Barack Obama along with various celebrities and civil rights groups.

President Obama tweeted “Don’t miss @selcharrosdeoro’s encore performance of the national anthem at the #NBAFinal in San Antonio tonight.”

Actress Eva Longoria also spoke about the ordeal and told My San Antonio “I, myself, was proud to see Sebastien in a mariachi outfit singing the national anthem…That’s exactly the hybrid of culture that we have today in America, specifically in Texas and San Antonio.”

Regarding the racist comments that trended like wildfire Longoria said: “I was saddened to see those Tweets.”

San Antonio Mayor posted on Facebook “I’m proud of our young San Antonio superstar Sebastian de la Cruz for a spectacular rendition of our national anthem at last night’s Spurs game. Sebastian, don’t let a few negative voices get you down. You are a true talent and you represent the best of our nation’s future!”

Actor & RAL Executive Producer Jovanny Venegas tweeted a photo of himself in a Mariachi outfit with “Very proud of @selcharrodeoro #SebastienDeLaCruz As a Fellow #Tejano Default is now #Mariachi to show my support!”

Outspoken Mexican-American blogger/author GustavoArellano tweeted

On Thursday night, the Spurs brought back “El Charro de Oro” for an encore performance. Sebastien was introduced by San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, who stressed how proud he was by his talent and composure over the past few days.

After being invited to sing the national anthem again Sebastien said “To be invited back to sing the national anthem is just amazing because now I know the San Antonio Spurs like how I sing…It makes me feel like I’m doing something legendary.”
