Guess who’s coming out the slammer? It’s ‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood, she will be released later on today with an electronic monitoring bracelet.
Reports state that Amber was originally supposed to complete a drug diversion program at Sister 2 Sister Ministries. But according to sources the Ministries “felt Portwood is too much of a handful and embodies too much negative energy to benefit from its program.”
Wow “embodies too much negative energy” isn’t that crazy? Especially a place that says that their purpose is “is for women from all walks of life to come together as a unified body in order to carry out the works of the Kingdom.” SMH kind of goes against their purpose but it worked out in Amber’s favor.
In an interview Amber’s mother Tonya Portwood said “Amber is so happy and relieved that she won’t have to live at the halfway house. And now she will get to spend more time with her daughter, which is what this was all about anyway.”
The new court ruling will allow Amber to continue filming her hit MTV show. Previously Amber was afraid of having to quit the show due to the fact that she was going to have to spends eight months at the rehab program without any cameras, and if she was accepted into the program the court would have required Amber to have a full-time job outside of her MTV show.
Amber is very lucky because she was facing a five-year prison sentence following her December 2011 arrest for probation violation. She pled guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of probation violation.
